The After-School Program recognizes that after a full school day, children of all ages benefit from the chance to make their own choices. Students can choose among structured projects, small group activities and games, and unstructured individual time, all within a rich play environment that's well-supervised and relaxed.
Each afternoon begins with a snack, including fresh fruit, followed by one or more highlighted arts-and-crafts projects. Recent favorites have included games, cards, puzzles, and building with Legos and blocks. Older students also have quiet time set aside to complete homework. Fridays bring extra fun with themed days and special events, announced in Tenacre's weekly Green Leaf e-newsletter.
Program hours are 3:15–6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 12:15–5:00 p.m. on Friday. Contracts can be arranged for one to five days per semester, and drop-ins are always welcome.
